Transitional Seasons Greetings!

We’re giving ourselves the gift of a new home this year! After years of leasing, we saw that it was time to permanently place ourselves in a home of our own. We are staying in our beloved Portland, and look forward to a new location which has a bus stop right out front and a bike friendly path in which to get there.
We are sending you warm wishes this holiday season may we all celebrate the returning of the light. And please, send us your warm wishes as we transition from the old to the new.

ImageFriend of the Month: MeganName: Megan McCoyHometown:

Portland, Oregon (not born and raised, but found and rooted!)

Age: 36

Profession: Management, non-profit world

Interests:

Sewing, land use and planning, creative reuse, travel, yoga, and
recently, karate (Ki-yah!)

Dreams:

Becoming a parent through adoption, and being good at it. Seeing
human beings learn to live sustainably and in harmony with, rather
than in competition, with other species.

Number of years/months using menstrual alternatives:
I switched to unbleaced tampons several years ago (for those times
when only a tampon will do) but it has only been in the last two years
that I’ve come to rely on Glad Rags exclusively.

Reason for switching to alternatives:

Conventional pads are smelly, expensive, and an environmental
nightmare. I just didn’t know there was an alternative that worked
before.

Favorite thing about alternatives:

When I first made the switch, I thought I would be sacrificing some
convenience, but I was willing to do so for the sake of making a
better environmental choice. Turns out, Glad Rags are actually more
convenient- I always have them, so no need for last minute trips to
the store, and they are less cumbersome and obvious to travel with
than some bright pink plastic-wrapped cube.

Funny anecdotes:

Everyone thinks they’re eye pillows!
