A GladRags Love Story
Periodically, customers feel compelled to send us sweet notes about just how much they love their GladRags. We don't know how to explain it… GladRags just seem to have this effect! What follows is a particularly charming tale from our new friend Sasha-Ingenue. Consider it further proof that GladRags spread joy in more ways than one!
"I've had my Glad Rags for about 4 years now. I was timid at first - always hiding my soak bowl behind the toilet, and remained embarrassed in front of lovers in my underwear, just like I'd been wearing disposable pads. Over time though, it became a bit if a bragging right and when I told boyfriend's what the deal was with cloth pads they were usually uninterested. A year ago I met a gem though, a peach of a man. And I can tell you, as silly as it might sound, GladRags lead me to falling in love with him.
We'd been dating for a couple months, he happened to come over one evening when all my clean laundry was laying on my bed, waiting to be folded. He lay on one side of the bed and we talked and laughed while I folded clothes. After I'd pulled a couple Glad Rags out of the pile he asked, "What are those little things?" I explained that they were re-useable menstrual pads made of flannel. He raised an eyebrow, so I explained how they were used and that I soaked the soiled ones before throwing them in the hamper. He grinned and was fascinated and told me what a great idea he thought this whole cloth-pad-thing was. I have never been embarrassed about my pads or my period in front of him and now my soak bowl sits on the bathroom counter by the sink. He was super impressed when I told him that the soak water was great for watering the houseplants. We’ve been living together for 7 months and my little life couldn't possibly be sweeter.
So thanks. For making something soft for me to put between my legs that I never have to put in the trash. And double thanks for creating a conversation piece that helped me find the partner I always hoped for."
Hope all y'all out there are having a pleasant '09!
